An opp has arisen for a Test Engineer to join an established company, who is a world leader in automotive safety and who develop and produce the industrys widest variety of active and passive systems. Candidates must have knowledge of Functional Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) design*development, automotive electronics product design, specs and interfacing and ATE platforms including GPIB, VXI, PXI and other well know proprietary hardware.
Must be able to:
·Prepare test equipment quotes based on agreed test strategies and specs where available, and recommend method of sourcing.
·Produce test equipment specs ensuring optimum test performance.
·In collaboration with Engineering, develop efficient and effective test specs ·Design, build and commission equipment to the highest possible standard, with support from other engineers.
·Write test software (typically in either C, C++, Visual Basic, Lab Windows CVI) to a good standard employing best practice principles ensuring integrity of the test system and of the product.
Candidates with all this and who have good verbal and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills and who are able to represent the department at all levels up to Executive level and in front of the customer will be favoured for this role. There will also be occasional travel.
